What’s this conference about?

The Oregon Law & Mental Health Conference brings together dozens of expert speakers with legal, clinical, and lived experience to discuss the confluence of law and mental illness. The event is produced annually as a program of the Mental Health Association of Portland, and is held on March 2, 2018 at the Doubletree Hotel in Portland.

Are there scholarships available?

Because of our generous sponsors, the conference provides a number of full scholarships for advocates with mental illness from around the state, and half-price tickets for full time students. All full scholarships for the 2018 conference have been distributed.

What Continuing Education is available?

Continuing education credits (seven hours for the full conference) are available through the Oregon State Bar and the National Association of Social Workers – Oregon. Credit certificates will be sent by email within one month of the conference. Changes can be requested up until May 2 and will be determined by paperwork from the conference.

Do I need an extra ticket for the Keynote Lunch with Judge Ginger Lerner-Wren?

Lunch is included when you register for the conference. Lunch-only tickets are available.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes. You may update your registration information at any time by sending a message to the Conference Coordinator with changes.

Is there a group rate available for the conference?

Yes. Sponsors get a group rate for more than five attendees. Groups make payment by invoice. Contact the Conference Coordinator to make an arrangement.

What is the conference refund policy?

Conference registrations can be transferred or refunded before February 10. If you’re unable to attend, your registration can be donated to a full time student or person with lived experience.

What is the conference dress code?

Dress code is business casual. We recommend dressing in layers as room temperatures can fluctuate.

What food will be available?

Coffee and tea are available all day. Snacks will be available for morning and afternoon breaks. A buffet lunch including vegetarian and vegan options will be served.

What are my transport / parking options?

The Doubletree Hotel is easily accessible by car, bike and public transportation. Parking is available in the hotel parking lot – and is free with a coupon from the conference registration desk.

Is there a group rate for staying at the hotel?

Yes. Call Doubletree at (503) 281-6111 for reservations. When you register ask for the “Oregon Law & Mental Health Conference Group Rate.” Should be $160 per night. But look around, you might get a better rate online for the same or nearby hotel.

How do I get a receipt for my registration?

You should have received a receipt for your registration by email when you registered. Contact the Conference Coordinator if you have a problem.
